Being in a close proximity with Delhi NCR (only 6-7 hours road journey, approx 270 Kms), Jim Corbett National Park is one of the best destination for short weekend trip for tourists. Jungle safari in & around Jim Corbett National Park is the major attraction for visitors.
For the convenience of visitors Jim Corbett National Park is divided into 6 zones each having its separate entry gate.
Approximately 4 hours Jungle safari in Jim Corbett national is available for visitors which is conducted in morning and evening shifts. Limited number of vehicles are allowed to enter each zone which varies from 10 - 30 in each zone. Vehicles used for jungle safari are Maruti Jipsy specially designed for Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR). Every vehicle can carry maximum 6 tourists.
In the Dhikala zone only canter safari is available for tourists. Visitors can enjoy jungle safari only in vehicles specially designed for Corbett Tiger Reserve, Private vehicles are not allowed to enter the Corbett tiger reserve.
Due to limitations of number of visitors entering the park, permits are required to enter any of the above zones. These permits can be booked in advance and can also be booked on current basis depending on availability. However, if tourists visiting the area are not able to get permits, an option of Corbett Landscape Safari is also available, which goes along the boundaries of Corbett national park (Sitabani area).
